My name is Vlad, and I love connecting electronic things to the Web.
I am the co-founder and chief product officer of a cool startup called EVRYTHNG. I received a PhD in computer science from ETH Zurich, and my speciality is the "Web of Things" - a prototypical journey towards of an imminent future, where real-world objects and physical environments can sense, analyze, and exchange data over the Web. My activities lie at the intersection of networked sensing (mobile phones, sensor networks, consumer electronics, etc.), human-computer interaction, and information systems, and I explore how Web technologies and standards (HTTP, RSS/ATOM, JSON, HTML5, etc.) can be used for ad-hoc interaction with digitally augmented environments. I also work on building scalable, end-to-end infrastructures for collecting, processing, and sharing Active Digital Identities for physical objects.
